About Me
I’ve always been drawn to the work of healing. Growing up as the son of a surgeon, I watched my father dedicate himself to helping people at all hours of the day and night. That instilled in me a deep desire to make a difference in people’s lives. Initially, I pursued a path toward medicine, earning a degree in biology, but I ultimately realized that medical school wasn’t the right fit for me. My passion for working with people never faded, and after spending several years in healthcare IT and a startup medical company, I made the decision to become a therapist.
At the time, my wife and I had been working with couples in our church, and I found immense fulfillment in helping others navigate life’s challenges. Becoming a therapist allowed me to align my vocation with my core values, blending my deep curiosity about people with my desire to help them heal.
My Approach
With over 20 years of clinical experience, I specialize in working with individuals who have experienced trauma. Many of my clients have tried other therapeutic approaches without success and feel stuck in patterns that no longer serve them. I consider it a privilege to walk alongside people as they work toward healing, helping them uncover patterns, challenge limiting beliefs, and gain the freedom to live more fully.
My style is warm, engaging, and often infused with humor. I know therapy can be hard work, but that doesn’t mean it has to be heavy all the time. Clients frequently tell me they feel comfortable and at ease with me, and I believe that feeling safe is essential to making progress.
I also take a highly integrative approach to therapy, drawing from a wide range of disciplines - including psychology, neuroscience, theology, and current research - to offer clients insights that are both practical and deeply meaningful. I have a gift for making complex concepts digestible and actionable, helping clients not just understand their struggles, but actually move through them.
